Manufacturing & Extension Port Details
Hey everyone,
First off, thank you so much for your overwhelming support! We're incredibly close to reaching an amazing milestone: $1 million in just one month! We're currently at $991,938 pledged with over 7,000 backers.
Manufacturing Process Insights
Many of you have expressed curiosity about our manufacturing process, and we're excited to share some exclusive behind-the-scenes content. Specifically, we want to highlight the most complex and critical component: the JetKVM case.
The JetKVM body and back cover are made from a single piece of die-cast ZAMAK 7 zinc alloy. This specific alloy, composed of 95% zinc and 5% aluminum with a low magnesium content, ensures durability and precision, especially on the thin walls of our design.
Die-Casting & Sanding
The zinc alloy is die-cast and sanded to achieve a precise shape and smooth surface.
CNC Post-Processing
Next, we use CNC machines to trim the case, refining details like the screen opening, ventilation holes, and ports.

1/2Copper Plating & Surface Finish
The case is plated with copper before applying the final surface treatment, ensuring both durability and a premium finish.
To ensure we meet our December delivery promise, we've prioritized the production of the JetKVM case early on. As of writing this, we're processing over three metric tons of ZAMAK 7 zinc.
The choice of zinc was no accident. During the design phase, we knew we wanted a material that would keep the device stable, even with all four ports in the back fully connected. Zinc delivers exactly that. Nearly three times denser than aluminum and six times denser than ABS plastic, it provides JetKVM with the perfect weight to stay firmly in place. It's compact, durable, and built to handle the demands of everyday use. It feels amazing in the hand.
Extension Port: Your Gateway to Customization
We're also excited to share details about the extension port, which is designed to unlock endless opportunities for hardware modifications. Whether you're thinking about integrating temperature sensors or automating physical device interactions, the extension port is ready for your creativity.
